Factory radio and MP3's
 

Qiock questino on the factory radio and MP3's on CD. Can it handle multiple folders on a single CD?

Or is it more basic, Can only play what is on top most directory of the CD?

I may have to purchase and self install the aux circuit sop that I can use my non iPod MP3 Player.

The short answer is yes. You can have one layer of folders. That is the root directory can contain folders of MP3s. I haven't tried more than 2 layers though. Only problem here is it doesn't keep an exact count of how many songs are on the CD as it displays the folder number and the track number within the folder.

I will be getting an AUX input in the near future. Still haven't though. Having too much fun just motoring.:lol:

I'll second that. I spent last Friday copying my CD's in MP3 format, using iTunes. But to copy it in folders, I had to use Roxio. Right now I have almost 12 hours on a single CD with the ability to move from folder to folder. I also copied the single playlist without folders to a single CD and just have a compilation. I play all the songs in alphabetical order.

A lot simpler than a 6 changer CD. Wish it would display album name though.

That is the way my MP3 Player is. Got it from Radio Shack, has 1 Gig SD Media card. Plays all songs in alphabetical order and can not read folders. :sad:

Were gonna have a MINI payment (not that MINI either!) so no iPod for me. I use Music Match Jukebox on my computer and I can save playlists to have the order I want. Unfortunately when burning to CD, it saves them in alphabetical order.

Someday the radio will have a USB port, or memmory card readers built in to the radio. Then we can simply plug in memmory sticks and take tunes from computer to car to where ever!

Sadly I doubt that they will ever do that. Nothing mechanical to wear out. No need to upgrade.

Though think how much smaller things could be if it was that way. Right now the limiting factor is the size of the CD. I have seen SD card based MP3 players about a inch square and 1/2 inch thick.
