Navigation & Audio Telephone option on Nav???
Telephone option on Nav???
Hey NAM,
After installing 2.b1 for my Ice>Link Plus and having everything get screwed up I flashed back to 2.07 which worked fine, but unfortunately I have navigation and for some reason I'm still getting the text support.
So now I have 2.07 with ID3 tag support which currently takes over my navigation AND my radio. Worst part about it is that the navigation now has a new option "telephone" and that's where the ID3 tags are being displayed under "Speed Dial". This is all funky.
Did anyone ever get the "Telephone" option on the navigation? Also, how do you get it off??? I'm hoping there is a way to just reset the navigation and the radio and just start fresh like 2.b1 never ever happened.
Any ideas?!?!?

I have the "Telephone" option on my MINI's Nav system, but it's totally unrelated to your problem I'm afraid. My Telephone option actually works as part of my MFSW telephone kit. You can see more info about it here:

As for how to get rid of the Telephone option from the Nav menu, I'm not really sure... I would have assumed that you could simply remove the source that's causing it to be added (e.g. your ICE Link) and it would go away on its own. Is this not the case?

Not the case:
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, that's not the case. It seems that when adding the text display option the telephone option suddenly appeared. Which makes me believe that a flag was tripped and set differently, to make it think that I am actually using a BT Phone.
So, no matter what I do, the telephone option is still available. Clicking on it just pauses for a second and then does nothing. I'm going to see about running a no text config file on the IceLink and see that maybe it will cause the text to stop running and that way the telephone option won't be a problem.
It's not so much a problem of having the option available on the menu, as it is that it's actually still displaying the text on the navigation. So I can't listen to my iPod AND use the navigation at the same time.
I'm going to see what else I can find out from Dension on this matter. Don't feel like going to Mini and start paying them to reset my ECU if there is another way out.
Thanks!
