USB AUX Issue - Once again
2009 Base R56. Replaced radio. Had AUX previously. The "new" radio had AUX USB in the car that I got it from.
Radio shows USB on display, but no AUX.
I got the AUX USB panel and cable from the same car that I got the radio from, but the connections are completely different.
The AUX and USB in the donor car plugged into the harness in a completely different place with completely different connectors.
Even the AUX wiring is different. My old radio had three wires, this one four.
Armed with various wiring diagrams, I'm going to try and wire the the donor USB AUX cable into the radio.
This seems to be helpful in figuring out the wiring.

Any chance that anyone out there has any suggestions?

I wound up getting another radio at the parts yard for $50. It's the same as the original (no usb or phone) and the aux works fine.
I've concluded that getting a USB radio to work with a non USB R56 is either not possible or beyond any reasonable effort. The same is true for trying to get a USB input to work with a non USB radio.
