2008 Joystick/Screen Issue - Help!
 

Hello all,

I've spent about 3 days trying to find a thread on my specific issue but to no avail, so I'm hoping that someone here can help out.

I recently acquired a 2008 Mini S - the person I purchased from said the nav didn't work because it needed a new joystick. Now, I don't care about the nav, but I do about the phone capability, so I got the part and replaced it, and it still doesn't work. All the fuses are good, because I'm not that lucky. From what I can tell, it SHOULD work, but it's stuck on the "Navigation / Communication / Entertainment / Setup" screen. The old and new joystick both turn/press fine, but nothing is happening on the screen.

The closest stealership is 2 hours away. There's nobody local that works on them, either. I'm really hoping that you guys can help me troubleshoot and fix this issue!! If any more information is needed, just let me know - I'm new to Minis!

The screen itself works - if I hit the button to the right of the AM/FM, it brings up the entertainment menu. If you voice command, it asks you to insert the nav DVD, which is installed.

Related, or two separate issues?
