09 Mini stock radio / stereo cannot turn on
2009 Mini stock stereo with boost CD player doesn't turn on / no display when pressing the power button, but the CD unit will accept and eject discs. Passenger side fuse box - fuse F23 checks ok, when I re-install the fuse, I can hear the CD unit energize. When I turn on my lights, the stereo and CD back lights illuminate

Update- I wanted to see/hear if when I insert a disc that I could hear the CD unit mechanically try to read it. Unfortunately once I insert the disc I couldn't hear any type of sound/movement inside. However I accidently inserted the disc upside down and strangely it spit it out. Is that a sign that the stereo unit is somehow working?
I haven tried to test the 2 rear fuses considering the CD unit is powered up and its a pain in the butt to remove the stereo unit

The rear fuse checked ok..So I decided to buy a used CD unit on E-bay for about $80 (no speedometer) , there was a volume circuit board for $30, but didn't want to take the chance if it wasn't a power button issue. Not fun trying to disconnect/removing all them wire connector harness in the back area. (they make it look so easy on YouTube) But over all a person will normal skills using hand tools should take around 4 hours to remove and replace the stereo unit and panels. Once I connected the CD/stereo wire harness, I could hear the CD unit energize. Then when I turned on the ignition.. all the stereo/lower speedometer display and sounds awoke like magic! So the fix was due to a bad CD/stereo head unit.
One thing I didn't realize is and its a good troubleshooting point is with a normal working day to day Mini Cooper.. when you put your key in the ignition, there are normal status sounds such as when you open a door open or leave the hatch open. So If you don't hear any of those sounds.. you most likely have a bad stereo unit. If your able to slide a disc into the CD unit and your stereo don't still don't wanna turn on; you know all stereo fuses are good.
