Aftermarket double din nav/head unit causing cel issues

I have installed a Pioneer Avic z140bh double din nav/stereo unit. I have been getting a number of cels which my local mini dealer says are can bus error messages because the oem unit is not in the loop. Has anyone else had this problem? If so how did you resolve it without reinstalling the oem radio.

That is exactly why I left my stock HU in. Some companies make units that are supposedly compatible. I've heard of other people hiding the original unit still hooked up but not used. https://www.seicane.com/android-2006...ntrol-s127017e

Not saying it can't be done, but I don't know the how to.

Well I had to remove my Pioneer Avic z140bh from my mini and reinstall the factory system. That solved the cel issues but now I plan on reinstalling the pioneer and keeping the factory unit hooked up. I need to know where I can place the factory unit. I saw the post where it was put behind the speedo with the lcd screen of the computer installed with a replacement flex cable. I don't have the Flex cable and so that means I need to relocate somewhere else. Any suggestions?
