Did you make the 'amp tray' and speaker tray?

Mine is a Cooper too - R53 (Mini Cooper S). They all have the battery in the back.

I made an amp tray that sat in the boot with the amps inside.
I'm not sure what you mean about a speaker tray?

That grey box is the JL Audio stealth sub, that's not fitted in a tray.
It sits on the boot floor. It's uses one of the boot brackets and a bolted plate to hold it in place.
Thanks for the nice comments about the system!

In your pictures, it's the one that shows a speaker in the right rear and it says Pioneer on it.

Ahh, I see what you mean now!
That's just a bit of decoration, JL Audio metal 'badge' as the sub is JL Audio
and the Pioneer metal 'badge' as the amps, head unit and CD changer are all Pioneer.

Gotcha - looked like a speaker in the other picture. Great job.

Did your speakers fit the holes and mounts that were there or did you have to do some cutting / fabrication?

In the picture of the amps, what's the 'hole' on the far right - is that the handle so you can take it out?

The standard speakers in the front are 5 1/4'' and the Focal KR2's are 165mm
so I had to make a spacer/adaptor ring for the front doors.
I made these from hardwood and gave them 4 coats of yacht varnish to weather proof them as the inside of the door cavity can be quite damp.
I also used hardwood as it'd very dense and would help improve sound quality by reducing vibration. Dynamat was also used to dampen down door panel vibrations.
See pics.

Very nice. Do you mind sharing the details of the amp tray?

Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures of the amp tray construction.
Basically, it's a shallow box holding the three amps and the fuse box.
The top is carpet covered and the windows are actually windows in the carpet covered lid with perspex in them to display the amps.

I wired strips of LED's to illuminate the amps automatically (from inside the box) when the boot (trunk) was opened.

Here are some pictures of the lid, you can see where I used a router to allow fitment of the perspex 'windows', the perspex was 3mm thick.

I've also added another picture to give you a closer view of the amps through
the 'window'.
