Garmin 50 DriveAssist with BC-30 camera

Hello All:

Just purchased a Garmin 50 DriveAssist with Garmin BC-30 bluetooth backup camera. Professionally installed in my 2015 Coupe S.
Problem: When placed in reverse the back up image comes on -but only for about 5 to 10 seconds. Both units bench tested and work fine.
Garmin customer support is worthless.
Anyone have a fix for the problem?

Thanks,
WmEsq77

Thats because the camera is so bad, Garmin doesn't want you to see the quality!!

Seriously, its a common problem with PCM voltage bulb systems.

Hook it up to a constant 12V supply, and toggle manually.

Thanks for your suggestion, but the solution was to afix a relay, this "evened-out" what was a pulsing of the electrical supply to the back-up lights. The pulsing effect caused the Garmin unit to "think" the car was no longer in reverse, and cut off the back up video. The relay solved this and no need to toggle; and the camera image is quite good.

Thanks for sharing the fix.
I'm in the process of installing the BC-30 camera to connect to my Garmin 2497.

It seems that by disabling backup lights warm bulb check, the issue is not present.
I'm on the way of discover the backup wires colors...
