Speakers flipped F/R

Hey folks! 2006 Cooper S, no Harmon Kardon. Aftermarket head unit (JVC) in car when I bought it, front speakers blown. Further investigation found the F/R speakers are reversed. I put in new speakers this weekend and pulled the head unit out to fix the wiring... to my surprise the wiring is all correct at the head unit and the colors at the speakers matched up with what I've found elsewhere.

I'm lost. I flipped the wires at the head unit to make things right but I want to fix it right. Any thoughts? Where do the speaker wires change colors, why might they be reversed elsewhere?

Thank you!

Do you have a aftermarket harness plug, they might have there wires flipped in that plug/.

Thank you for the response! Unfortunately I already checked at the head unit wiring, and all was wired correctly there.

I was able to find this post about apparently people were doing this on purpose at some point to get more bass to the rear speakers... Unfortunately none of the pictures in the thread work and I'm not certain where to find this connector or what colors I should see where in order to ascertain if that's even the problem

Here's the link to the post https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...nnel-swap.html

That's on the gen 2 MINI link, you have a Gen 1 , different set up. Some of the aftermarket harness have wires swapped from the factory that why i ask. Might be the issue.

I'll take a look at it again. Thank you for your help!
