Sirius hijacking my AUX tunes

I just bought a 2005 MCS with the HK audio system and built in Sirius receiver. I've had Sirius in a prior vehicle and I have absolutely no desire to ever subscribe to it again. Running Spotify via my phone through the AUX is all I need. And, that doesn't sit well with Sirius.

Whenever I listen to music through my AUX, Sirius will eventually highjack it mid-tune and display a Call Sirius message on the receiver. Furthermore, Sirius kills AUX option from the mode menu. If i unplug/replug my phone the AUX option returns, but that really seems to irritate Sirius, because once I plug my phone back in Sirius takes over within a couple of seconds vs. a minute or more. Stupid Sirius.

Anyway, my question is does anyone know a way to tell Sirius to hit the road for good and to quite busting into to my Debbie Boone's greatest hits?

I look forward to hearing back from you all.

Mark

It a common problem, even if you didn't have Sirius it would go to CD instead. There are some post about this issue on NAM.
Mine did the same thing, got this PAC SNI-1/3.5 3.5-mm Ground Loop Noise Isolator Works with iPod/Zune/iRiver and Others

Tucked it behind the plastic panel and that fixed it.

Thanks for the tip, minibx. So, because of a poor sound quality, Sirius feels it needs to save me from myself? How odd. Technology may be getting too smart for it's own good.

No problem, don't ask me how all of that works lol it was suggested that I should get that loop and that's what I did lol.

I also purchased this Bluetooth streamer for calls and music and the quality of sound is great

Or just unplug the Sirius receiver....
Bet it is s connection issue...you input scource momentarily disappears...so the "mode" moves onto the next one... And that is from aux to sat......maybe even a pad plug/cable?!
I would check the aux plug is tight and in firm...and unplug the dang Sirius.....
I have a xm unit through a blitz-safe that is no longer active ( car thinks it is a Sirius receiver with the unit...even says Sirius)... Never had that issue.

Keep in mind that even by disconnecting the Sirius module you may and up with the same issue, instead of changing to Sat radio it will change to CD instead, I can not tell you how to disconnected because I haven't done it but it should be easy , search on you tube. Good luck

sounds like this is just a version of the 'ground loop issue'

the ground loop issue is well documented (search ground loop)

a ground loop isolator is inexpensive and by most reports always solves the problem . . .
