New mini iphone lightning usb cable non y
 

Does anyone know anything about this new non-y cable. It has lightning on one end and usb on the other. Prestige Mini is selling them on ebay. Is this a mini part? Does anyone know the part number? Which years it will work with?

I emailed prestige with no response.

I believe it to be part number to be 61 12 2 354 909. Mass Mini and Sewell it comes up as not found.

That particular cable is simply a USB to Lightning cable, it is no different than the cable that Apple supplied with your phone. It may be useful for charging or syncing data, but it will have very limited functionality with all other features.

We tested this cable with a dozen separate iPhones running different iOS Versions on at least 2 dozen different MINI's (with and without Visual Boost/Connected). The only vehicle which produced audio and had *somewhat* full functionality was a 2011 Countryman with MINI Connected and Navigation.

The cable that everyone wants will be either 61122287642 (Music Lightning Y-Cable) or 61122287505 (Media Lightning Y-Cable). Unfortunately these have not been released by MINI and they have given us no ETA.
