I have one and I love the sound quality but I miss the use of my steering wheel paddles and the auto volume reduction feature. I mainly bought the Alpine so I could play .MP3 files but now I'm considering just going the AUX Port - Ipod route.
It's a great deck, NOTHING wrong with it. I'll take best offer! -Jim |
That head unit uses a remote control - why not get a SWI-X IR adapter and then you can use your steering wheel controls with it. That's what I did with my Alpine unit and it works great.
As a matter of fact, it's even better than stock because you get to program the middle left button to actually do something! |
I agree with scooterboy. I don't know where he got his adapter but you can get them from Crutchfield. I'm sure they are available just about anywhere.

You can indeed get it from many places. I got mine from mikeythemini, only because I was already ordering a harness, facia adapter and aerial adapter from him so it was convenient.

I am picking up my MINI this afternoon.
I just had the PAC setup on my Alpine 9815. Great setup. I have a question however, what is up with the antenna? The one I installed first didn't receive AM. So I bought a new one from Crutchfield along with the PAC. Installed it lastnight....same result. No AM. What is going on? Anytips or tricks? |
What do you mean by "new antenna"? New cable, base, and antenna or did you just replace the antenna in the stock MINI base on the roof?
There is an antenna connection box behind the trim underneath the right side rear window. It's the white box in the attached picture with the multiple connections on the bottom. Possibly something became disconnected? http://home.comcast.net/~sfconnell/images/allout.jpg |
kewwwl tip @ ScooterBoy, now, how on earth did you find THAT!?

You mean the picture? I took it myself, during my audio install. Click the link in my sig for more pics and descriptions of my setup.
