Need iPod help

When accessing my iPod through the Aux input on my MINI, my songs are all played alphabetically. I cannot get them to play in random order. I have no problem shuffling the songs on the iPod tiself, but as soon as I connect it to my MINI, they will only play in order. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Is there a "RAND" button on the menu when you're playing from the iPod? If so, you'll want to hit that.

No, there is not. The MINI iPod menu offers me only to display the music by the following: Playlists-Genres-Artists-Albums-Songs. If I select any of those, then the selections are displayed alphabetically within that category. There is no "RAND" selection anywhere.

Looked at this on the way into work this morning and I think I understand.

Once you select a song to play, press the 'back' button. This should take you back to the main screen ("LIST ALB ART..."). On this screen, you should have the 'RND' button. Press this and it'll put a tick mark next to it -- after that, your songs should play in random order.

NeilCar - thank you so much. There it is! I can't understand why it doesn't appear on the main menu. But sure enough, if I select an individual song and then go back while it is playing, the random option appears just as you said. I appreciate your help.

Access to Podcasts through the dash nav?

I connected my iPod to the USB and am able to access most of the menu items, but I don't see any listing in the menu for PodCasts. Is this accurate? Any way to access besides using only the mini audio jack and using the iPod menu to access other audio besides what's provided for in the Mini dash?
Are there software updates available? I own a 2008 Clubman S

I don't have an answer for you, some one else will chime in, but you can also find podcasts under artist.

08 Clubbie and Pod Casts show up under Artists by name

You can look for podcasts under Genres as well. This is usually the shortest path!

I would love to have a nice LCD screen installed that shows album artwork and information. Has anyone installed an upgraded unit?
