AUX Input for PRE-Jan '03 R53's

I was reading the Moss Mini Catalog, and I saw that the aux input they sell only work on Jan '03 mini's and onward. My R53 is from July '02 I believe, would this still work?

Or is there any other way to add an aux input otherwise?

Thanks!

Probably not. The only option is to get a newer head unit.

Newministuff has an interface that will work: http://www.newministuff.com/new/shop...uctshow&id=245. The alternative is to get a newer headunit (they show up regularly on eBay) along with an aux cable.

I bought the AUX input when I picked up my '06 MCS back in December. The instructions indicated an initial compatibility date of 09/02. I'm not sure why this does not coincide with the 01/03 reference in the catalog.

If your MINI is too old, you will have to frequent the NAM parts section or E-Bay to find someone selling their OEM stereo. Make sure you can see a picture of the stereo label to determine its production date. It will be in week/year format (e.g. 36/04). You should be looking for a U.S. Boost unit. Expect to pay as much as $150 for it.
