Voice tag problem

I just picked up a 2010 Cab with bluetooth and factory NAV I have a Balckberry Storm. The phone paired and only half of the address book loaded (I have 1400 contacts)
when I try to store a voice tag, instead of asking me for the name, it seems to think that I want to store a radio pre-set.

any suggestions?

Two things:

1. Your Blackberry can be selected to only transfer certain contacts. I.E Group called Family or Work or Both. Check in you blackberry manual on exactly where to change this. Mine BB is a Curve and it is in the Options>Bluetooth>MINI(connection to car)>Press Blackberry Key (brings up options list)>Options>Address Book Transfer: "Selected Categories Only"

Not sure if it is the same on the storm but there is a way to change this.

2. With OEM NAV system (the one in the speedo, i believe that is what you say you have) there should be no need to "SAVE" voice tags. All you should need to do is to press the little voice button on the steering wheel and it should ask you who you want to call. At least that is the way the 08's and 09's work.

Can't create phone voice tags problem

I have a 2010 CAB with Bluetooth and factory NAV and a Blackberry Tour 9630 shich is on the " It works list" on another thread. There are 1400 contacts in my phone book about half of them load into the phone book.
When I try to create a voice tag the syetem sends me into the radio preset mode insteae od a phone voice tag. Is it a memory issue?
HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Michael,

As Schatzy62 mentioned, cars with the factory nav can't record voice tags. The nav system is capable of reading the address book and recognizing the voice command without them, so it doesn't have the recording capability.

The reason he mentioned setting the Blackberry up to transfer only certain groups is that the MINI has problems handling large numbers of contacts. The exact number varies based on the phone, but you'll probably have better luck with under 800.

Maybe the 2010 Bluetooth is different. I just picked up my Cooper convertible a week ago Monday and I can't remember exactly how he did it, but my MA walked me through adding a voice command for my husbands number. It took about 8 tries to get it to understand "Kevin". Evidently he's (Mr. Bluetooth guy) very sensitive!

If you don't have the factory installed nav system (the built inside the speedometer one) then things are a bit different and using voice dialing still means recording a voice tag.

MINI's put manuals up for both nav and non-nav cars at http://www.miniusa.com/bluetooth recently- it's got PDF'd instructions for setting things up downloadable there.
