So I'm very confused. I think ML has a different install than we do. Maybe your stereo guy did a mod that you weren't aware of?? I got a reply from the UK Parrot forum:

Octaneguy: The operation of your car kit is correct. The relay box from the Parrot simply switches the source of audio going to your speakers from the car's head unit to the Parrot kit. It does not go via the car radio's amplifier it uses the Parrot's. Have you tried adjusting the volume with the Parrot round button while you are in a call?

Also found this on the US version of the Parrot forum that says the car stereo volume has no effect. ML, do you have HK audio???

The other thing is, I was noting where people were putting the mic. I have mine currently at the top of the driver's side A-pillar, with the little flat end just wedged in between the pillar and the roofline. I don't get any complaints about the noise from my end, and maybe I just have awesome hearing...haha...but I don't have an issue with volume at all.

Hmm, I don't think so, because I did this install myself. I guess it could be possible he did something later on

I don't have HK...I just have the regular set-up. And I just went back outside and did it again...when I use the volume **** I can turn it allllll the way down to silent, and I can turn it back up to a point where it's plenty loud enough, but it will only turn up so far...I can't make it so it's *blasting*, but the max it will go is pretty loud.

I don't know...maybe my unit is different...it is over a year old...

I'm going to create a new thread for just the Parrot as I think this information would be useful. I've found a lot of interesting articles and FAQ's on this, and all have said the same thing--the Head Unit volume control is bypassed by the relays inside the Parrot--it uses it's own amp...I want my Parrot to act the way ML's does.....

Yeah that's the strange thing, it works perfectly. I press the Phone icon and it goes into voice recognition mode. Or with the "magic words" I say "Telephone" and it goes into that mode.

Here's the new thread for discussing the Parrot CK3000 Evolution.

Hi...I'm a little confused as to which cars have what installed....my car is a 2005..it has the 2 bluetooth buttons on the left spoke by the audio buttons.............I have seen '05s without these buttons [the bluetooth ones]...
my question is, what capabilities does mine have, that the car without the buttons doesnt have?
Is my car bluetooth ready because of the buttons being there, or does that not mean anything?

thanks!
Steve

Factory Bluetooth was an option--if you spec'd it and paid the $500+ for it, then you have it. If you don't remember paying a bunch of money for it, you don't have it, lol.

The buttons on the steering wheel are known as the MFSW or the Multi Function Steering Wheel--that's an option. You can control the volume of the headunit as well as cruise controls functions on the right hand side.

If you have the bluetooth option you can activate the phone to dial a number using the button with the phone symbol.

I have had Mikey's kit for about a year and think it works great. This system uses the Parrot 3k and a separate interface box. It was less than $300 delivered (ask for NAM discount).

Phone audio quality in both directions is fine. I have noticed that playback level can only be adjusted via the MFSW buttons, not the headunit. Have you tried that?

Buskraut, do you have a pic? or more detail

Are you answering the phone by using the MFSW button or the Parrot? Can you give your phone commands through the Parrot, like "Call John Smith".
Is the Parrot wired into the Aux on the HU? or is there a separate phone input?
Thanks
Who did your install? Where did you get it?

Not to hijack, but when octaneguy is quoting you, it changes your name from MLPearson79 to MLWagner79

- MFSW buttons

Can you give your phone commands through the Parrot, like "Call John Smith".

- Yes

Is the Parrot wired into the Aux on the HU? or is there a separate phone input?

- It comes with a wired connector to plug into the back of the head unit.

Thanks
Who did your install? Where did you get it?

- I did the install. Took about an hour or so.

- I bought it from www.newministuff.com (AFAIK the only source). Ask for NAM discount.
