Built-in DC power for SIRIUS

I found the threads talking about the antenna connection for the Sirius radios under the passenger seat, but what about the power connection? Is that in the same place, and what kind of power is it? 12v? 5v? And what kind of connector?

TIA,
Rob

And while I’m at it some more power questions.

Anyone have any pictures of wiring to the mini’s fuse box? If I can’t wire power to the underseat connection (if it exists), then my next choice would be a fuse tap. I’m also wondering if there is a way to tap into the wires that lead to the cig lighter. I haven’t tried to pry the cover off yet, but it would seem a wire tap there might work.

And if someone has used a fuse tap, are there any unused slots that would be good to use? This is just to power small electronics, so it’s low amps, and it should be hot when vehicle is on (I don’t have fog lights, heated seats, or various other electricals so those slots might work).

TIA,
Rob

New Mini Stuff sells a wire pigtail that connects behind the cig lighter socket.

You could also use an add-a-fuse in the fuse box, although using one on the cig lighter fuse in the 07 keeps the cover from fitting properly without modification.

How do you get at those wires? I looked and I couldn’t figure out to get to it. I can probably whip together one of those pigtails myself, once I see if I have the right connectors.

That pigtail from connects under the console, where the factory wiring plugs into the cig lighter socket. I've never pulled the console apart on mine but I've seen some posts with pictures around here. I'll post a link here if I can find them again. The search function almost never finds things I look for.
