In-Dash Satellite Radios Receiver w/o Tuner?

I'm looking to replace my current SIRIUS satellite setup. I have one of those "Dock & Play" SIRIUS satellite receiver/tuners. It sits on a dock and can either clip to your vents (not possible for MINI), or stick to your windshield (doesn't stick ). So you can see my problems... I've gotten a velcrow strip to try to keep it on my dash, but it doesn't work but for two or so days before it starts falling off.

I'm looking at some items on SIRIUS.com. The nearest thing to what I'm looking for is SIRIUS Connect... It's odd. You have to have a select head unit (Alpine, Pioneer, etc.). I don't think I understand the setup. Looks like it would cost an upwards of $150+. Hard to tell. I think I'd have to keep my "Dock & Play" device in the vehicle as well... No clue.

Anyways... Anyone have some suggestions?

well you can always go to the dealer and get your radio HU to play sirius. I had mines done when i got the car with the lifetime plan for the radio. I use it alot when i get tired of my cd's. But if this is what your planning to do then you can sell off your sirius dock&play and make some money for the HU install.

Hi,

if you are looking for an all in one solution you can get the kenwood unit that has the tuner built in. i used it for a couple months but i rather prefer xm. the only real problem with the unit is that you dont get the three lines of display you get with the docking type and the regular radio dosnt work unless you have a sirrus subscription active. but other than that it is a nice unit. it even comes with hd radio.

and when i say it is all in one the only external thing you hook up is the antenna. everything is in the head unit. i still have it. kenwook 700sr it also plays cd's.

The only other solution depends if your current radio is sat ready. then you add the tuner. i could be wrong, hope this helps

Well I may cancel my subscription in the future, so I don't think I could go with the Kenwood... =/

Also... I live in Boise, ID. The nearest dealer is in Salt Lake City, UT. I'm not gonna make that drive. Especially with gas prices now...

Grr. I may just have to cancel my subscription.
