I'm going to be installing an in-dash cd mp3 player in my cooper s. Anyone figured out the color coding of the connection wires? Crutchfield doesn't have a custom harness yet so I'll be splicing into the wires directly. If anyone's spent the time to figure this out, I'd appreciate some help.

Thanks.

I've heard that the BMW 3 series harness *could* work. Crutchfield is throwing in a BMW 330i harness with my receiver install kit. Will know soon enough. If you still have time, you might contact Crutchfield again and ask to have that included with your install kit. They threw it in for free on my order.

Cool! I just called Crutchfield and they're sending out a 330i harness. Hope it works. Thanks.

When are you installing? I won't be installing for about 3 more weeks. Car arrives at my door in about 2 weeks (shipped from TN to OR). DEFINITELY let me know how it goes. If this works, we are set!!! Oh, also let me know how the Crutchfield install kit pans out.

Well, my car leaked all of it's coolant out within three days of picking it up from the dealer, so it's back there getting looked at. And Crutchfield was backordered on the mounting plate for the cooper, so it will probably be a week or two before I've got the car and the parts and the time.

I'll also be replacing the rear 6x9's with some Sonys. Any idea how to get those grills off back there for access?

I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm totally redoing my system as well. Sony CDX-CA750x headunit. PAC SWI-X interface for the Multi-Function Steering Wheel (MFSW) controls and my headunit. Fronts will be Pioneer 6.5" mid/1" tweet component TS-C604. Rears will be Pioneer TS-A6985 4 way 6x9. 10" Pioneer TS-W254DVC sub in 0.7cf sealed enclosure. 200w@2ohm MTX Thunder 4202 amp for the sub, and a 4x100w@4ohm Orion for the speakers. Get my car around September 10th and the system should be done by end of September at latest. Still trying to figure out how I'm going to deal with the subs/amps in the boot. Thinking about a false floor for the sub enclosure with the larger 4 channel amp recessed in the floor and the sub amp in the side pocket area. Can't wait to do it. I've got all the pieces sitting on my work bench in the garage. Is it September 10th yet?

Who ever's done first will help the other. Ha! I'll be taking pictures of the whole install and posting them on my site. Especially the PAC SWI-X interface for the MFSW.
