Virus scare

With the recently announced news of ipods leaving the china factory with installed viruses.
Should there be concern about integrating them into our minis? I mean they can infect our computers can't they? And the mini doesn't have anti-virus software now does it?

Am I worrying about nothing? I was going out this weekend to buy a nano for the mini, but am having 2nd thoughts.

Not to worry. The MINI computer system doesn't run on Windows, OS X, Linux, or any other operating system that would be affected by a virus on your iPod. Plug and play away!

Alternatively, get a nice Microsoft Zune... which has 80gb of storage, plays videos as well as Mp3 music and has no viruses to speak of. Or, like I do... use your cell phone for music, so many of them now have headphone out jacks and up to 8gb capacity, which is alot of songs.

Also, even though the recent news stories about virus infections in Chinese-built gadgets always mention the iPod in order to get more traffic, the iPod virus incident was actually back in 2006, and involved a *very* small number of video iPods that came from the factory with a Windows virus on them. Since the iPods don't use Windows for their operating system, this had no effect on the iPods themselves, but there was a possibility of unprotected Windows computers becoming infected when the iPods were connected.
