Out with the old, outdated Harman system. In with the new Infinity system!

I have been looking forward to this project for quite a while. My Harman Kardon system was starting to fizzle out. 2 speakers ended their life and it was starting to drive me crazy!

So, I removed the Harman system, and installed all new speakers (6x9 and 6-1/2 Infinity Kappa components), a 10” Infinity Kappa 1000w sub on the Infinity Kappa 600 amp. The speakers are being driven by a JBL 4 channel amp. All speakers getting 100-120 watts of power each.

Wiring was a bit of an ordeal, and it took most of the time. The front door speakers were also a major hassle. I couldn’t figure out how to get them installed, but finally got a plan. I cut out the old Harman grills and was able to fasten them to the door panel. 6x9s were easy.

Used the original wiring as well. Everything works and this system is LOUD!

Nice looking set up. Probably sounds a lot better. It is a bit funny that JBL & Infinity are now part of Harman. Can't seem to get away from them.

lol I saw that they are both owned by Harman. I’ve had the cheaper Infinities in another car and liked them. I decided to splurge a bit and get their Kappa speakers and sub. I’m impressed at how loud these can get and not distort. Now I just need to sit down and get it tuned to how I like it.

eventually, I want to build my own sub box and give myself a little bit more room, but for now, not much can fit back there.
