Traffic info on Navigation, where's it come from?

Ok, when I first picked up MINIBIRD, I had read stuff on here for about 1 year prior, and thought I knew everything I was getting in the car. Low and behold, I did not know I was getting live traffice information on the navigation screen. That feature is really GREAT!!

What I don't know however is this, where the HECK does it come from???? Is it from digital radio stations, sputnik.....?? Or does it come from some top secret, "Magical Mini" communications center?

there is a section of the nav (ill look when i get home) where you can "add" a location where traffic info can be drawn from, a local traffic station or some thing like that. but on that section you can see the preset inputs

It comes from the evil empire Clear Channel, probably over the subchannels of the FM stations they own.

I'm pretty sure that the traffic info is provided over the radio waves (via RDS) using the Clear Channel Radio’s Total Traffic Network.

Thanks guys. I do remember seeing the software setting, but the selections I had were something I didn't have (Sirus radio maybe? I forget) and something else, I of course, also forgot.

I'm getting very old and forgetfull in my 40's!! What was my question anyway???
