Here's where you can get some short 3.5mm patch cords!

I did a search to see if anyone had a real short stereo patch cord (none of
that 3' or 6' crap), didn't see it... so here it is.

I ordered 3 of the 8" length ones 1hr ago and i already received my
UPS tracking number!!!

Radio Shack carries a 12" version

kenchan Jun 18, 2007 01:04 PM

that's 4" too long.

Retractable versions like ZipLinq can retract to 4" (and extend to 48"). For my iPod, I use their direct dock cable, which gives better sound than the headphone jack.

^^ yah, but the primary purpose of running a short cord is so
you can hide it under the center dash without any dangling.

Just got them in my hands.

much better quality than expected. the cord is nice and thick yet soft
and high quality elastomer coating. will hook it up to my ZEN and see
how it works later on tonight.

Thanks for the link kenchan. 12" is fine with me, but I cannot stand walking into a Radio Shack...and the 4'-er has got to go!!!

kenchan Jun 20, 2007 01:43 PM

^^ np!

kenchan Jun 20, 2007 07:43 PM

Just wanted to confirm, these work great!

the length is perfect too. forget those long sagging 12" cords, 8" is the
way to go. (20mm).

I discovered while putting in my new gauge face plate that once the dash piece is out and the center gauge removed, it is a great opportunity to clean-up the lengths of cables. Zip ties and Velcro behind the dash and all is neat and tidy with no vibrations.
Besides with the dash pieces out it is a great time to get rid of scratches with Prima Swirl and get a good wax layer on like Prima Epic. Now I can just use Prima Hydro for upkeep.

yes, i agree with Minimaybee.

You need to stop this thread Hydrojacking. You're becoming very predictible.

Did I mention I just ordered a gallon container?
