Got it in the mail yesterday.

I've been to the shop where they get made. Thumbs up on the quality.

You'll need to get a mount, as you would for any badge...but it's an inexpensive, worthwhile investment.

Yeah, those badges are so well-made and thick, I kept trying to pull "them" apart, thinking it was two stuck together. Didn't work.

It's proudly displayed on the CR Cooper today.

This doesn't apply to me, yet, but is there a way for Alliance members to purchase a second badge for multi-MINI households?

Ideally I would like each membership and badge tied to a member. I can understand the need but I would have to ask if the drivers in the house are all NAM members? That said perhaps we could offer some type of family membership option though I'm not sure how I would manage that from a software perspective.

Not to thread jack, but...

Mark...
If you refer to "families" you might down the road have to distinguish if 2 families shared 1 member.. ex Sandy is sister of Bill but Aunt of Kali...

So I would refer to them as households...

Perhaps if you arrange the database and make keys to tie family member say:

Household1 has 3 people:
Bob = 1
Bill = 1
Sandy = 1

They all have a key of 1 but household 2 has a key of 2:
Mary = 2
Ryan = 2
Becky = 2
Dave = 2
John = 2

and so on... and in the front end of the app have it display the main user selected and have it display all the users tied to the same id that the main user is in... Like in household2 if Mary was the main selected, in a second box you would have Ryan, Becky, John, and Dave displayed so you could see the other people tied to that household...

Something like that maybe? Sorry thats whats off the top of my head.. I have had just enough coffee to start thinking straight..

</thread jack>

Well, there's that way of looking at it too, but I was thinking for if I, a single individual with no kids or wives, stumbles upon the dream classic Mini for a project. I guess I could swap badges between whatever car I would be driving at the moment.
I think some sort of household plan would be the only way to go with this since Alliance magazine, once downloaded, can be read by everyone in the household with access to the computer, same as a paper magazine, and the sales and specials probably won't be limited to just whatever MINI or Mini they have in their garage space. Really I wouldn't see too many benefits to having multiple people in a household each having a full membership.

Or...as another alternative I could make them available in the NAM store but I would have to verify alliance membership when an order was placed. That way you could purchase as many additional badges as you need for your household

How many "charter member" badges will there be out there when all is said and done? Are there any plans to change the badge style after a certain time/number of members?

I honestly have no idea how many will go out. My intention was that charter members would be the first year's members. Given this the 2009 badge for renewals would be a different design and not have any mention of charter status.

I don't have an alliance badge, but I have some made by the same vendor with the same material. They are rock solid and hang on tight.
