Brecht MINI in Escondido is doing a poker run on August 7th that will stop in Ontario, Monrovia and the Santa Anita race track before ending at the "O" Hotel in LA for the viewing of the Countryman.

It starts at 10am. Just wondering if anyone else is going?

 

It's not really Brecht doing the run, it is a group of four dealers. The first stop is MINI of San Diego at 9am, the second being MINI of Escondido (Brecht) and so on. There will be a pretty good group of us going. The West Coast MINI's group is meeting around 7:15 am for a run of twisties before getting to SD. Interested?

 

Driving the twisties sounds temping. Getting up that early, not so much. Where are you guys meeting at?

 

hey guys anyone have info on the poker run? i know it started at 9, but i called the mini of sd, no answer, called the mini of escondido and they dont know anything about it. i live in santa ana, so i just want to know if i should be making the drive out there or not. if anyone knows anything PLEASE e-mail me or pm me. thanks!

 

well i found my answer. looks like i missed out on the poker run. they should've mentioned that you HAVE to meet in san diego at 9 in order to participate in the poker run.

 

The goodies were nice, MINI of SD and Escondido did a nice job with snacks, goodie bags and welcoming us to to their place. MINI of Ontario, as usual, did their usual excellent event by having burgers and hot dogs on the grill, plus a variety of go-snacks for all of us. MINI of Monrovia provided a playing card and nothing else. Many of us didn't know what / where to do for the final playing card at Santa Anita, and when a number of us asked, no one knew. So that ended up being a bit of a bust.

The major upside? West Coast MINI gave us a GREAT route with lots of great driving, and lots of MINI folks running around at each of the stops (except Monrovia, which was quicker than a NASCAR pit stop).
