mcarlo, do you remember what kind of shirt you were wearing Saturday? I have a couple of photos of a car that looks like yours, with a badge holder and a shorty antenna moving through the UCLA parking lot.

The driver looks to be wearing a brownish T-shirt and there's a woman passenger. If it was you, you were two behind a Pepper White car with wide brown stripes.

I disagree. There was very little 'LA Traffic' in that area on saturday morning. The problem was we had around 600 MINI's to move from a parking lot through a residential neighborhood. Short blocks, street lights, two lanes, etc. As soon as we hit Sunset, we moved speedily to Topanga. There was a bottleneck there again - one lane each way and 600 MINI's arriving in a parking lot that holds less than 100 cars. There was an accident on Topanga that snarled traffic but after that, hitting the 101 fwy was wide open. I noticed that it really mattered where you were in the pack of MINI's - I must have been in the first 1/3 or so b/c we drove into the park at a nice steady pace but when we left it was clearly a boot to bonnet crawl getting in. I thought MINI USA did a great job considering they had a herd of 600 to deal with!

I don't have the shorty, but I was wearing a brownish T and a MINI black cap. My wife was with me in the passenger seat.
Are your photos on flickr?

New, or classic Mini?

Edited version: I guess if I had read "r53" I could have answered my own question.

There was an older black model that I have photos of, but I don't see the one you're talking about

Quite a few very nice pictures. Many of my pictures (which aren't posted yet anywhere else) are similar. Looks like we did many of the same types of things on our visit to LA. We stopped for a couple of days at California Adventure and drove down PCH through Huntington Beach to Laguna Beach. We also drove past our previous Huntington Beach residence (a small rental on "A" Street) and visited a Mission (Santa Barbara) during the trip.

That's amazing. Maybe it has something to do with our cars being shipmates.

When we lived in Huntington Beach from the mid-1960s to 1971, there was a large tract of small, one- or two-bedroom stucco houses with grasshoppers in the back yard. When I got interested in photography, I always thought that would be an interesting contrast, the modest homes and the rich backyards.

By the time, I got back there again, all of those houses were gone, replaced by the condos and the luxury hotels.

I enjoyed your photos, too. When I was in fourth grade, I drew a picture of the Santa Barbara mission, so seeing your photos brought back memories of that.

Just so everyone knows: Gina, the driver of the BRG MINI cabrio involved in the accident, now has a new Nightfire Red cabrio. It looks sharp, and she is happy once again.

Anyone now the whereabouts of the LA MTTS video that was being taken at the event. I think the video was MINI USA sponsored but I am not sure.
