MITM 2013 - Avon, Colorado @ Christie Lodge

August 7-11, 2013, time to be planning your vacation, our internal planning has been going on for months.

We are going West a bit, Avon, Colorado. Our hosting Lodge will be the Christie Lodge. A mild Western Theme is in development, not Country Western and not Cowboy, think Heart of the Valley/Avon, wide open West.

We will have group rates available, look for future postings on our schedule for each day.

We will have some new rides and adventures for you to try out.

We will start with event setup on Wednesday August 7, 2013. We will be changing up the event.

Our event Chair will be posting more as will others from the MITM team.

Hope to see many of you, Don S.

Eagle County is more fun in summer than Winter Park to me so I am happy. I do have one question, any alternate lodging for pet owners?

Sounds good, I plan to be there! Though I will miss that Belgian pub in Winter Park. I fell in love with St Bernardus Abt 12 while I was there. Mmmmm.

Hopefully an organized light off-road ride for us all4 peeps. I did the self guided CM ride at the last one and LOVED it. It would be alot more fun with a group.

Short answer, Yes!

MinisintheMountains (MITM) is the annual MINI5280 National Event held each August, open to everyone, it is nice to have a MINI.

We are going into our eighth year, it will be fun, interesting and different.

Come out an play, drive and meet lots of folks from around the Country, Canada, Mexico and a few other far lands.

We are looking at the pet lodging question, it came up at our last planning session. I hope to have an answer for all the pet folks soon.

We will work on CM ALL4 drives and hope to have one or two that are lead by a CM owner. We can map it if you want to lead it.

It might give me an excuse to come up there a few months early to scope it out

Also, how far is the Westin or the Ritz from the event lodge (I have some free nights or I wouldn't even consider the Ritz )?

Just a little update on pets in Avon, the Christie Lodge being a condo private owner owned facility does not allow pets, oops! :(

Try this link: http://hotels.petswelcome.com/colorado/avon/

Comfort Inn is one of the closest Hotels near the Christie, it would be a good bet for you and your companion (dog or dogs).

I imagine you can bring your pets over to the MITM wash and outside areas. I am not going to ask you to leave.

Well bump....

The Westin is a couple of blocks from the Christie Lodge, I think. If the Ritz is in Vail, that would be 8 miles to the East from Avon, short hop!

Sorry, we have been slowing planning. MITM registration will be opening in the next week, putting some final touches on the website.

You can go to the MITM website and make reservations at the Christie Lodge and get the group rate, now!

I will be making my reservations soon, we have good block of rooms but be fast.

Don
