Fall of the Dragon 2005

Umm.. is it too early to ask about the Fall of the Dragon III? When are the dates? What's nine hours driving for a weekend's fun between friends?

I want in!

MeeneeBoy 05-12-2005 11:13 AM

Is Skyline Drive included in?

Woah, it's gonna be "werry" "werry" NICE!

welshmenwillnotyield 05-12-2005 11:20 AM

I was there last year, as my first experience at the Dragon...wouldn't miss it for the world. Last year, the Cherohala drive was strictly on your own, but the color was spectacular. The Dragon itself was kinda slippery, given the leaves on the roadway, but nonetheless beautiful. It's just soooo easy to fall in love with this area in all seasons...can't wait to see how it drives over the summer, too.

I'll DEFINITELY sign up for October's Fall of the Dragon!!

gravedgr 05-12-2005 11:49 AM

I'm SO there.

Hey Jeff,

My wife and I want to make it to FOTD this year. Maybe I can get the mat extension to you then:lol:

I know the peeps who were there last year want to keep it a small event so maybe this thread should disappear.

If you want to keep it small go by yourself.........or an unadvertised very small group, you can do that anytime. I like to see all the different Minis and meet the ppl

Either way, I would love to meet up with some folks for a weekend

BrewSwapGuy 05-13-2005 03:52 AM

Chill out man. Are you ever in a laid back mood?

Fall sounds nice. If the event is exclusive, I can always go solo.

Electron_Mike 05-15-2005 07:29 PM

Sounds like a blast. I'd love to get back up on the Foothills parkway and see the colors of the leaves.

While ANYTIME is Dragon time, I don't think the "Fall of the Dragon" will EVER equal the Springtime event in terms of sheer numbers of participants, since it is in the middle of college football season. Still, 30-40 MINIs coming down in mid-October is a nice number to serve notice to all those "other" motorers that the MINIs WILL be back in force the following Spring.

Pebblecrusher 06-04-2005 08:37 PM

The family and I are thinking about coming. The Indiana folks coming?

welshmenwillnotyield 06-04-2005 09:14 PM

I think so...you know how those Hoosiers are...always hurryin....

The Fall of the Dragon 2004 was Thurs - Sat if I remember correctly (Oct 21 - 23, 2004).

Still waiting on confirmation of the dates before I book anything.
