very cool, very interested in this.... Greenville, SC (and nearby) folks, lets start planning! just as long as this doesn't conflict with the Dragon 05 - we're gonna have a booth setup this year for sure!

 

They better reserve a HUGE area for the Minis Michigan Minis and I am counting the days

 

I just received a call fro Mr. Seibert from Paramount Kings Island personally to say how excited he is about all the MINI's and car clubs participating in the new ride opening.

I will post any info that comes my way, on this site and on MichiganMINI (if it is not posted already)

 

Count me in for the motor up from SC!!! After all, Cincy is my home town.. I could even stay at the old homestead, which is about 45 mins away...

 

Is the meeting definately going to be opening weekend or is it still up for debate?

I can't wait... and I reeeeeeeally hope it's not the weekend of the 15th.

 

From what I understand, the grand opening of the ride may not be opening day of the park (which is in April). It may be as late as June.

 

aaahh... sounds good.

I just have two weekends in that time that are booked solid.. NO way out... and I really want to be there for the ride.

I live like 15 minutes away from PKI! This would be an awesome meeting (and I wonder if enough of us show up if PKI will give some group promotional discount for entry ) I could probably give a hand in helping people find stuff in the area that they might need while in town.

 

Awesome! It sounds like there may be a couple of us coming from MN, so we'd be interested in a place to stay. Even if you could give me some leads to something that was relatively close.

I started thinking how much fun this is going to be! Then I started thinking of how big this could get. Here are some other thoughts that flew through my head:

• Get the stunt driver from The Italian Job to be there. We met him here in MN when our club got a prescreening of TIJ.
• How about a tour of the ride from the crew leader who put it together? See some of the behind-the-scenes stuff!
• Club-specifiic parking spots
• MINI car show for regular park patrons - maybe have a lane of MINIs for patrons to walk through as they enter the park.
• Have us fellow MINI owners pass out TIJ literature in the parking lot to incoming patrons
• Park MINIs nose-to-tail from the park entrance to the ride entrance
• Early rides for us - before the park opens!

Does anyone here belong to ACE (American Coaster Enthusiasts)?? Maybe we could work something out with them as well - as sometimes they are privvy to new ride information and often-times secure their own "private showing".

I dunno what's being worked on at the moment or if any of these thoughts would be feasable with the amount of time, but I just thought I'd throw 'em out there. Heck, maybe it'lll make a good discussion if anything... :smile:

 

Expect the MINI Motoring Club of the Carolinas (M2C2) to show up!!! Many of our members have talked about it and we'll be organizing MINI-vans from across the Carolinas for the event!

This would be so much fun. My wife and I both worked at the park (in their campground). She was there this summer, I worked the previous 3. I retired and now we are in FL. BUT, all of our family and friends are still there. Can you say ROAD TRIP!. Please keep us posted as to dates, etc so we can plan ahead of time.

LeeL, Opening day is the day the park opens for the 2005 tourist season. Mr. Seibert said the grand opening of the ride probably won't be until June though.

Hey, I have been thinking about joining the Roller Coaster Enthousiast club anyway..........maybe I will check into it again and let you know if we can get some special deals.

I can't wait for this event, it will be loads of fun.
