2 brand new GPs available at Braman MINI in Miami

There are 2 drop dead gorgeous brand new '06 JCW GPs available at Braman MINI in Miami

Just wanted to pass this info along. If anyone is interested, send me a PM and I'll refer you to my Motoring Advisor.

I'll post the roof numbers, but one of them is 1007!

Beautiful cars. The best and fastest R53 MINI from factory. Don't pass them up

Just talked to the sales in Miami. Let them know I was a cash buyer and they said the asking price is $9000 over sticker. So, guess they can keep them. They also said they sold 7 others at this same price.

The cars are still available. Gorgeous machines. I would definetely make a bid for GP roof number 1007. I believe the other GP's roof number is 1584 if I am not mistaken.

These cars have less than 10 miles on the odo. Not even the MA's are allowed to drive them!

Dave, did you try to negotiate? To whom did you talk to? I'll take your reply in the form of a PM.

Keep in mind guys, that only 415 JCW GPs were imported into the US last year. This is a very rare/special car and it most definetely will be a collectible in coming years. There are very few remaining brand new GPs in the country, so the markups are in response to the very scarce supply of these vehicles. Each dealer originally received an allocation of 5-6 of these bad boys.

Don't pass them up. If I didn't need a rear seat, I would be all over that GP #1007.

Here is your chance to own a piece of history!

Markups are usually based on demand, not just rarity. But since there are plenty to come buy at dealers (the intial want of a GP has worn off), much like the MC 40. I just don't see anyone paying above sticker for these cars. and if they do "A fool and his money are soon parted".

and there is also one on ebay with 174 miles. I'd watch that and see what that goes for.

i called them as well. keep in mind i live in Denver and that is a 2000 mile trip to bring home the goodies.

the reply was that 'they start at $10k over and work from there'. that is complete BS and I would not take my business to them even if I lived close to Miami and seek out another dealer. These cars are great, rare and desirable however they are more of a marketing tool rather than a pure racer like the e30 m3. you can not be even competitive in auto-x out of the box with them due to their classification in DSP. It is not like you are getting a screamer that is not possible to put together yourself for less than the MSRP. Sorry for the ranting, I was just upset about that dealers approach.

Agreed. However the MC40 was nothing but a warmed over stock S with red leather seats (Probably that was the nicest aspect of that car) and a bunch of magnetic body stickers. There were no mechanical bits that distanced it away from other regular MCS. The MC40 was a failed marketing attempt by MINIUSA to create a "Limited"edition car with lots of show (Red seats, anthracite R90 wheels, stickers) and no real "go". 1000 MC40 were issued and most people lamented the fact that for the high asking price MINI did not even include any JCW bits to up the performance. Further the MC40 didn't even come with cruise control!

Fast forward to 2006, and MINI releases the JCW GP which is a totally different car from the MC40 befor eit and a car that truly deliver the "goods". MINI learned its lesson from the failed MC40 attempt (which by the way was only sold in the US and not even offered in the UK for some bizarre reason) and came up with a truly unique end of cycle car.

I am eager to see what MINI has up their sleeves come 2009, which will mark the 50th anniversary of the release of the original Issigonis Mini.

I hope Braman come to their senses and lower the markup. It is a shame because those 2 GPs are sweet cars and they need a home

Negotiate! They weren't willing to negotiate. I let them know up front I was a cash buyer and very interested. Also, asked what they were willing to sell them for. I would either have to have the car shipped to Arizona or go down and drive it home. Not that driving it home would be a bad thing. But, all this adds to the cost! Who needs a Mini dealer with Harley Dealer Attitude, not me!

That is crap! My dealer Ralph Schomp in Denver sold me mine for MSRP!! On the other hand anything over MSRP can only keep the value of the GP elevated.

If you want to get an idea of the value of this car, keep an eye on ebay. The auction shown above ends soon.

I've seen that GP from ebay on autotrader before. They wanted $35k for it.

I also talked to Braman MINI a while back when my dad was looking for a GP. Their prices varied for which roof
number you wanted. I still can't believe people bought some of them for that price. But good for the dealer since they got
what they wanted, and I'm guessing they're willing to wait for another person to pay that much.

No Sale! Couldn't even crack the $30k barrier on that Auction. I would consider offers for mine with just over 10k for mileage. The dashboard was signed my Mike Cooper. This has to add value, don't you agree?

Princeton MINI was sitting on two GPs at MSRP from before Christmas up until a few ago when the one in the window dissappeared... however, this was shortly before they received their R56 shipment, so maybe they still have them... I haven't been in since December to ask if they sold.

Nice cars... and a good value against a comparibly equiped MCS... but worth $31K? Debatable... More than that? ...but that's just my opinion... like anything, it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Hey guys, I'm a local down here in Miami, do not even consider checking them out they are asking $42k trust me I called. Hint check autotrader.com
there are several available with less 190 miles on them, one is in central Fla. $34K and another some BMW dealership selling for $30,995 now these are reasonable prices, I bet just going in to negociate you could probably haggle the prices a bit.
