Good luck! What car are you wanting to change over to?

See those two white brackets in the trunk (for NOS)? Connect the dots . . . .

Blown engine, clutch and brakes at 25K?:eek2:

Best of luck trying to get 30.

1FSTMINI 11-18-2006 06:05 PM

I read it right ... and glad you wrote it upfront. It tells the tale of the usage of the car.

I wish you the best in getting the price you want. I just know most aftermarket parts are money .... out the window.

Try eBay maybe or autotrader?

The Short Bus 11-23-2006 06:58 AM

man everyone's selling their mini's!!

good luck :)

1FSTMINI 11-30-2006 07:00 AM

BUMP.

Im gettin closer n closer on not selling it, but we'll see.

What i want is not what i know ill get....Im taken offers.

IanF 11-30-2006 10:42 AM

If you want to get anywhere close to the mondy you have into the car you will need to sell the car and mods separately.

Without the mods it's a $20K car... maybe... With the mods it's a.... $20K car... sorry... just the way it is. Unless you get lucky enough to find somebody looking for exactly the same mods you've done. This may happen, but it takes time... Personally, I have far too much time invested in learning how to work on these cars to buy someone else's mods.

Simply put, the closer the car is to stock, the easier it will be to sell and in the long run, the more money you'll get for it.

1FSTMINI 12-01-2006 04:14 PM

I appreciate all the feedback, but im not looking for peoples comments on how to sell my car. Ive been in the automotive field for 14yrs and have worked for many dealerships to know I'm not gonna get what I put into the car so thats why im seeing what offers are out there. I can put the car completly back to stock and sell off all the performance parts. i have tons of extra's not even put on the car and more from another friend of mine whos selling off his own Mini. But thanks for all the advice.

1FSTMINI 12-26-2006 02:56 PM

Bump....Make an offer.

Rogue Cooper 12-26-2006 03:58 PM

Sorry but I have to say its a HUGE turn off to see motor, clutch, etc replaced. That's a horrible sign, no matter what you did on the inside. Sounds like you're dragging it, which again, is not a good sign. I was honestly going to ask what kind of BOV you put in it, and then opted not to because the mods are tasteful and practical.

Good luck with the sale and happy motoring!

1FSTMINI 12-29-2006 06:26 AM

UMM , OK......Where does a BOV come into the fact we have SUPERCHARGERS on our cars my friend. So you think AutoX a car is any less stressful on a car than one that go in a str8 line for 1320ft at full blast like most people do light to light EVERYDAY. You make no sense so please dont comment on things you have no clue what your talking about sir. ty, come again!

And if you knew ONE thing about the MINI....the clutch and flywheel suck no matter how you drive. The motor was MY fault from a small oversight on when i built it.

dhodory 12-29-2006 10:45 AM

All the comments aside (mine included), have you had much action on the car with a $30k listing? I haven't seen any interest in this thread -- other than folks telling you $30k is (in their respective opinions) way to much.

I'm not attacking you or your car (looks like you had a lot of fun with it) or even your listing. Just asking the rhetorical (I don't expect you to respond to me . . . after all who am I . . . just a guy posting on a forum)question, that's all. Follow up thought/question would be: if no one's even nibbling at $30k, why not go out on a limb and list it BOTH ways -- one listing at $20k-ish (stock) and one at $27k-ish (or some other number under $30k) with the mods . . . . just to see what might happen.

Again, I sincerely wish you nothing but the best with the sale. People here can be harsh (yet many times very accurate) critics. At least they're giving useful feedback. I've been on one too many car forums where fellow enthusiasts keep telling the seller "No man, that's a GREAT price. Don't budge on it." With their own selfish motives at heart (i.e. no sales, or now lower priced sales = residual values staying higher or at least the perception that residual values are staying up there), all the while, the poor SOB who is trying to sell his car can't figure out why its not selling.

Again, best of luck in your endeavor.

Why the original engine and transmission had to be replaced at 25K???
