I am going to be traveling for work this year, and will be gone for 8-10 months. During that time, Carmen would be sitting in a garage w/ no one to drive it...so I'm contemplating selling her and just stacking away that $ that would be saved w/ no car payment.

I don't NEED to get rid of her, it just makes more sense than letting her sit. I'd rather have someone enjoy her lest she get bored and feel neglected.

So...this is a feeler thread...

As said before, she's an 2007 Astro Black Sidewalk. 6spd. Premium, sport, cold weather, h/k etc... Just hit 8800 miles...mostly highway between Dallas and Austin. I took delivery in May of 07. Everything is in tip top shape...very SMALL road debris nick on the bonnet but that's it.








Again, since this is a feeler, I'm not even sure about the sale, let alone what I could get for it. I'm not asking for offers, but I am open to what you all think I should reasonably expect to get for such a car.

 

Beautiful car, maybe 28-29K would be reasonable.

Beautiful. Since you are looking for price direction, what did this set you back new? That seems like the logical starting point. Then, what is the depreciation for 8800 miles worth? For now, this car is still available brand new. Not for that much longer, though. I'm sure many of us ragtop owners are having these kind of thoughts.

 

New was 32k and some change.

I couldn't find MINI as an option on KBB.com when I tried to get a value for the car there...did I miss it?

I'm aware of the new car - off lot depreciation as I've dealt with it in the past so I'm expecting a bit of that, but with the MINIs great resale value, and the "limited" production of this car, I'm hoping to get a fair amount out of it.

I'm hoping there's someone out there in love with the sidewalk that would prefer a broken in model as opposed to a brand new one. Save THEM the off-the-lot sticker shock maybe.

I just looked and Mini WAS in KBB.

 

I did too...and then I tried putting in 06 instead of 07, and there it was. Guess they don't have listing for 07s yet.
