BLU repair party!

All the parts are in, and I have moved BLU up to my neighbors garage and put up on the lift with Mike's help.

Starting this weekend, Sept. 28th & 29th, the repair party will be on.

Anyone that wants to head up to Longmont to help me pull the front end off and drop the motor, to replace the clutch and to replace the supercharger is welcome to help or watch (if you come to just watch you need to bring your own chairs!).

Mike has all the tools we will need, and I have some of mine there too, just in case.
We will start at 3 pm Sat after the Cooper 5k, and continue on Sunday the 29th.

Here is the link if you want to officially say you will help or watch

I'll be over to help/learn/watch.

And will probably pop in and out through the weekend since I live nearby.

I'll try to come by at some point Sat p.m. (mostly to watch, since I'm pretty useless with these things). Schedule's pretty jammed, but I'm close enough nearby to maybe swing for a bit.

Alas, I won't now be able to attend, as I've got a 4pm engagement up in FtC. If this goes on a couple weeks down the line, I may be able to spectate, hand over tools, etc...cheers!

Done for the night... Just got home... Back at it tomorrow morning.
Anybody local (Denver, Longmont, Loveland,...) have a jug of MINI/BMW coolant laying around their garage?
We can have Blu running under its own power tomorrow if we can find some.

Did you find the MINI branded anti-freeze, I hope so.

Appears to be going well. Do not autozone it. :(

Blu all put back together and resting at home. I need to thank Rick "****'s Garage", Robert " Booktrout" and Mike "the Mike" for all their help and use of the lift!
Thank you again!

Any time Rich, good to see Blu up and driving again.

Dont forget to flush that nastiness out of the radiator as soon as you can, and replace it with the good stuff.

Good to see, you did 'Autozone', get the real stuff soon, the wrong color fluid will eat the seals. :( :(

Good job, did you get to the clutch or is that for next time?

Looking good.

Don't worry Don, I want to get the good cool blue MINI antifreeze in BLU, he just doesn't feel right with neon green goo in him, he only likes the blue! I also need to get a new cap and an o-ring for the dipstick tube.

There's nothing wrong with using standard green antifreeze in the MINI. We use standard antifreeze all the time.
But do NOT use dexacool. that will turn to gel and not work.

There shouldn't be one. As long as the belt isnt slipping, and your car is holding boost, which Sunday night it was doing just fine at both.
