MINI5280 Metal Grill Badge Install.

For the folks who got in on the Grill Badge pre-order, here are the basic instructions to use the custom mount in picture format.

From Bryan W. (miniconcarne) MINI guy who made up the custom mounts, his pictures, so follow the link and this numbered sequence. Shows how to use the rubber tabs, etc....

Pics from left to right.
1) Install kit
2) Kit includes: 2 studs, 2 washers, 2 nuts, 2 pads and 1 backer
3) Stud install
4) Pad install (peel and stick)
5) Badge placement in grill
6) Back of grill
7) Backer over studs
8) Washer and nuts (9/32 or 7mm deep socket or wrench needed)

First picture in the series. Remember you can mount about anywhere on your MINI grill the badge will fit, I suggest you use a area that has a vertical rib, for stability.

I received my grill badge in the mail a few days ago.

Very nice.

Don, thanks for getting these for us and thank you to anyone who helped with this.

I don't mind asking the dumb question

Do you have to take your grill off to install the badge?

And, yes, thanks so much Don for all the work you did for this.

I think if you have a 2002-2006 MINI you just pop the bonnet and then you would have access to the back side of the grill.

If you have a 2007-2013, yes you do have to remove the grill.

There might be detailed instructions somewhere but for the most part the bottom chrome trim comes off first (by pressing small tabs on the ends).
Then the grill is held in place by four tabs on the bottom and four plastic pins at the top.

Hope that helps, PM me if you need more info on it.

I'll try to find a link for the instructions,

Robert

Are the metal badges still available for ordering? If so, who do I go through to get one?

Thanks!
