JCW R56 OEM Turbo

Category: Drivetrain
Price: $650
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (you may select multiples): R55, R56, R57, R58, R59, R60
Location (Region): NorthEast
Item Condition: Used

This is an OEM John Cooper Works Turbo for Mini Cooper R56 models (2007 - 2013).
I am selling because I have upgraded to a bigger turbo and don’t need this one. It runs perfectly fine with no problems delivering boost and is a perfect upgrade that will deliver far more power and speed to regular non turbo Mini Coopers or S models. I am also including a JMTC Turbo intake boot that is made from stronger material than the stock intake boot which helps keep turbo boost pressure consistent. Selling both items together for $650 shipped.

And for those who want to check and verify this turbo's fitment for your car, read the RED print HERE

THIS TURBO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Ok, I am going ask the first dumb question. I have a 2009 R55. I believe the turbo is on its last leg. Long story short, I bought the Mini at auction and didn't drive it first and have been paying the price ever since. Would this be the same turbo that is on my car? How would I go about verifying that I could swap these parts?

I would check realoem dot com and verify the part numbers match from year to year....that should work.

Thanks. I could double-check the exact part number but the initial lookup looks ldoes not look promising. Thanks.

I tried to post the fitment list from Way for JCW Turbos that they sell and couldn't paste the info, but you can verify it from the link I added to the original posting.

This is a OEM Borg Warner Turbo from a John Cooper Works (and is NOT from a Turbo-S model).

And for those of you who have a regular Cooper and interested in getting this turbo upgrade, I also have the OEM JCW lowering springs, that I can throw in for $100. This would be an adaptable upgrade in handling that offer a nice drop thats not too low like some aftermarket springs. Better handling is needed for a faster car should you go with the extra power gained from the turbo.

Based on the item tag: 5303 970 0298
This should be an N18 model JCW turbo. This would be a direct upgrade replacement for any N14 or N18 Cooper S.

This is a pretty good price, assuming no shaft play. If I had the funds, I would be all over it.

This turbo is off my 2013 JCW and removed around 75k miles. I have the N18 engine in my car.

This will fit an N14 engined Mini, however, swap the waste-gate actuator with the N14's. N18s use a bigger one that can confuse the ECU.
Note that the turbo inlet tube is slightly bigger (+3mm) on the JCW than the N14.

Putting this turbo onto a regular MCS (non-JCW), you'll also need a tune for it. Else, you'll get a check engine light and drivability issues beyond 5k rpm rev range.
