MINI Cooper S N14 Engine
Long block, plus tons of extras.
Removed from a 2008 MINI Cooper S Hardtop with 92,987 miles.
Timing system failed on this engine and the engine was removed and inspected. The exhaust valves on cylinder #1 very lightly touched the piston (only chipped some carbon off top of piston). Valves were removed and inspected and no damage or bent valves were found.
Head was rebuilt with new exhaust valves on cylinder #1, just to make certain. Head gasket surface was machined, intake walnut blasted to remove carbon, valves lightly lapped, new valve stems seals installed and head was reinstalled with a new head gasket and head bolts.
New Febi timing kit installed with new timing chain, guides (3) and tensioner.
New oil pan gasket installed.
New front main seal installed.
I had this engine ready to go into a MINI in need of an engine, but determined I’ll never get around to that project.
