ECU, Immobilizer, and key GP tune on ECU

Category: Drivetrain
Price: $225
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (you may select multiples): R53
Location (Region): Midwestern
Item Condition: Used

I have three ECU's, with matching immobilizers and keys all programmed with the GP tune. These all came out of cars that had been used on track only since new. All of the parts have been stored in a climate controlled warehouse inside anti static packaging they came in from the dealer. $225 price includes shipping to the lower 48. Email me at rm@r53spares.com to purchase.

Seems like a good deal to get a cheap GP tune, no? But what supporting mods would you need for this to work? ...sorry I'm pretty new to Mini tuning.

What size injectors, was there a new cam put in? Don't know what type of mods were put on the car and what these modded ECU's support. Let's say I have 380cc injectors, and the ECU mod has 450cc injectors mapped, there's a problem there.

You would have to look and see what size injectors the GP ran. I am fairly certain it was 380cc. Per my ad these ECU's came out of cars that had been raced since new. The series they ran in had rules which didnt permit cams. It's a factory GP tune on the ECU.

The GP was essentially just a JCW tune on the ECU. Should be setup for all JCW hardware (intake, exhaust, header, JCW head, SC with JCW pulley, 380cc injectors...) + GP intercooler. The GP was a JCW with handling and styling characteristics upgraded and weight reduced. The ECU might be tuned only slightly more aggressive that JCW as OEM but that I can't be positive on. Someone else will weigh in I'm sure...
***edit... it is tuned slightly more aggressive from the standard JCW tune. 218HP vs 210HP for JCW.

It would be cool to have, but without the head and all of the other bolt-ons, I doubt it would be ideal.

True but on an existing 05+ JCW the ECU would be an upgrade because it already has everything but the GP intercooler.

Any idea if they could be used even though the DME # is different than the one on my ECU? Just a dumb question, I am interested in one of them if it’ll work. Thank you for your time.

IMO- pretty sure the HP increase on teh GP came from the exhaust system alone.. nothing else.
