Expensive, perhaps, but that depends on what you are looking to do with your MINI. I have a friend that has a Gen1 with a 17% pulley and a big brake kit (don't remember what brand). He has done several runs with cars that have allot more torque and horsepower than his meager Gen1 whiner. The others are all amazed at how well his car keeps up (actually he can run over many of them). Well he has raced in the past but the real answer is THE BRAKES. He can enter the corners knowing his brakes will get him out the other end.
