R53 OEM Key (spare key)

Found my spare key from my old '03 R53....

Not confident it can work with other 1st Gen cars but if you buy I'm betting you know it can work. Being all black tells me it's the spare, believe the primary key fob had the MINI symbol in chrome.

Shippping extra.....probably about $6/7 via USPS small flat rate box.

SOLD

It'll probably work if you taped it to the end of a hammer and hit the window with it.
Once inside the car you will need to wire tie it to a screwdriver then jam it in the hole.
A good hard hit with the hammer should dislodge the mechanism so you can twist it and free the steering wheel lock.
After you have solved both of those lock issues then you can roll it onto the tow truck because without the proper coding you will never get the car started..

^^ Sad but very true ^^
Save the key as a necklace pendant or hang it from the mirror of your new car as a reminder on how well a car should handle from the factory....

What are you driving now ?
You had some nice mods on your 03.

S-Driver 04-11-2017 07:27 PM

Lol.....

Not driving anything as fun as that car was. Sad.....I've gone SUV. And a P/U I bought to pull the race car that I'm not getting now....

But that car may still see the light of day sometime, but 5yrs waiting - it was time to call it dead for me.

Race car ?
I'm intrigued....a MINI race car ?

I picked up a Honda Element EXP AWD for 2nd vehicle, owned by little old lady who drove it on Sundays....best AWD vehicle I've ever driven in snow and can keep Raven in garage detailed for nice days :)

If it ever gets finished - it'll be a monster once sorted out.

So your car has been stuck at that guys shop for over 3 years now?

Too bad it never got finished.

S-Driver 04-12-2017 05:43 PM

5yrs......but the car doesn't really exist anymore. Been parted out for the most part. I still have some stuff listed on the forum.

Builder has had some unfortunate personal circumstances the last few years.....what are ya gunna do. **** happens...

Can I vote this "Best Newbie Post Ever"?
That said, there is a use for old casings, as in my case the 'wings' flew off. But you do have to transfer the innards.

Saw that race car. This photo was taken of Raven while parked outside of his barn where it was being built....At that time he was just finished with suspension, and mapping out shifter lines and intercooler ducting.
