R56 Front Brake Caliper Guide Pins
Category: Brakes
Price: $1
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (you may select multiples): R56
Location (Region): NorthEast
Item Condition: Used
Currently the only way that I've found to obtain the pins is by buying the entire pad carrier, and I'd rather not shell out $120 for 2 pins.
I don't need the rubber bellows, just the bolt with the rubber tip. If you've upgraded your brakes to a BBK and have the stockers, or if you have a couple pins lying around, I'd be more than happy to compensate you for them.
Thanks in advance for you help!

I have a 2007 Cooper S (R56) with a couple of brake caliper guide pins that are acting up. They have a little rubber bushing at the end of them, and that rubber bushing moves from the spot that it's supposed to locate when the pin slides. That makes the system jam up, and the pins don't slide.

Cool. Thanks for the help. When I get them replaced, any recommended grease so that I don't have the problem that someone else left me with?

Just an update -
I found a set of rubber replacement parts on eBay for $10. Thought if nothing else, I'd try them before shelling out the money. Anywho - they worked out very well, fit and feel right. And I used Sil-Glyde from NAPA, per the suggestion from many a mechanic that has seen this same type of trouble.
Hope that helps anyone that's having the same problems.

I bought a very similar part on ebay. And it's worked like a charm ever since. Definitely use the Sil-Glyde with them as well. Couldn't be happier with the pairing, and not having to buy new calipers...
