Ed has the fastest 0-55 mph Cooper around. It just don't go over 55!

sheeeech! Now go back and read my posting carefullly! the very first statement in my last paragraph....."WHEN I'm driving for mileage..." I never meant to imply that I drive that way all the time. Just pull up on the right side of me at a light and be in the right turn only lane and watch what happens when the light turns green! The MPG protocal goes out the window!

The new head and associated CAM is a nice dream and I do think about it alot, but there are a multitude of things that I also have to give thought to whenever I start finding myself gettiing serious about the new head & cam. I seriously believe that I'm living on borrowed time with that 5-speed Midland. There is no doubt in my mind that if I ever move from serious thought to "I've made up my mind"...I'm going to have to start looking for a 6-speed getrag and a large list of associated addons that go along with those modifications. That is going to put the cost factor up another big notch on the vertical scale. But all that being said...I do love "playing" with my MINI, and like most Hobbies they can become expensive.

OK, so you are now "Slower-Faster"

How about just going into an R53 MCS for your next mod?
Put the parts from your R50...on that...You can custom fit your exhaust onto an R53.

You can use your 15" wheels to camouflage your speed against the VW GTIs.
