Took delivery of my Chili/Black R56 on Saturday and added one to the NJ population!

I'm in the North/East of Sussex County, just south of Warwick, NY. I can count the number of MINI's in my area on one hand.

Monday morning's commute I was greeted by the local PD with a warning of "excessive acceleration" :grin:. My proudest moment so far! :nod:

Beside's the dealer-sponsered events I see, is there a regular occurance of anything (meets/rallyes/BBQ's/etc) for our breed?

That's hilarious. Careful - if somebody pulls out in front of you, you'd better hit them. Don't want to get written up for "excessive braking". :wink:

Im in the Union area, prob not far from you but not sure since im new to this state.

Anyway, im def up for a Mini meet! Ive often suggested it, but dont seem to get enough interest. Maybe we need a R56 owner to change that! :grin:

I make it a point to smile and wave when the local PD pulls up next to me. :nod: I'm sure they wonder why I'm such a happy outgoing motorer...or what I'm hiding :eek2: :sly:

I like the approach of keeping folks guessing by keeping a smile on my face. I think everyone should be as happy as I am when I'm motoring in LilTiger...even those poor souls driving Crown Victoria's with colorful lights. :wink: :razz:

Yes, the lights....I love the lights. Nice uniforms too! I have a good raport with the local PD, they just have this habit of isolating every new car in the town until they have an idea of who it is. They did the same thing to me when I bought my BMW motorcycle back in 2002. Now they know it's me and leave me alone.

If you got your car from Prestige, they usually run 4-5 events a year. Sometime in the summer, they should have a " Mini night at the drive-in" in Warwick. We meet at the dealership and then run up to the drive-in. Go to NEMINI.ORG and see the thread about the great ice cream run. There may be a run soon to Riverside Creamery in Port Jervis.

Great stuff. The drive-in is 7 miles from me and I frequent it every season.
