Thanks to Pir8 for the head's up, I should be coming out for this one. What time are we getting started? I actually don't plan on doing any mods but the wife and I will be there to lend a hand and can bring a few extra tools.

Whoohoo! ATL trip is postponed, so I can make this. No idea on mods, but all light work, depends upon what I start ordering and what arrives in time...

Wow this is shaping up to be quite the party! I'm gonna get there early so I can get my car done and help others.

Come on out Gonzo, the more MINIs the Better.

Dave, How about an engine Damper
http://www.helix13.com/images/enginedamperv1.jpg

Its cheap $55 should help and has teh bling to 'pimp ze auto'.

I've got one going on... ordered from Helix (in Philly so it should get here in time)

Just a suggestion.

Keith

I'll be coming from Charlotte, thinking 8/49 to 64 then 55 looks like it'll be more direct and more fun if not any quicker.

Anybody else from my neck of the woods going? If so, what time and route?

OK, I will probably be doing and oil change as well assuming I can get a filter before then.
Chris,

Any issues with me doing that there? Don;t want to cause an environmental disaster or anything. I will be bringing my own drain pan though.

Oh, I just realized or put 2 and 2 together that Sunday is the Daytona 500. COuld cause some scheduling issues since my wife and I usually watch togehter. HMM.

Lee, No issues with oil changes... I do them way too many times with all the vehicles around.

If you are coming from outer NE area of Charlotte, then 49 to Asheboro, then 64 to Apex is best way.

If coming from deeper inside Charlotte, I usually take I85 E to 421 S in Greensboro, just because the higher speed on 85 makes up for the extra distance. To me 49 has so many stops now, that average speed is reduced.
Sometimes I've taken backroads from 49 to Kannapolis area and then 85 to avoid 49 through Concord/Harrisburg.

But you know Charlotte better than I.

Simple fix. Come out early to work on the car, then do a spirited motor home to get in the mood for the race!

Just got my tax refund... if there's time I'll be ordering a rear sway, so put me down for rear sway and springs

I'm going to hold off on installing my camber plates until I can afford control arms and an alignment.

I might just have to do that, though I hate to not be around to help others out. Also, it will depend on if she invites some other people over to watch, which she indicated she may be doing.

If you are doing the springs, you might as well put the camber plates on, otherwise you'll end up doing work twice, as the struts will have to come out to put the new plates in... though it will be easier the 2nd time. With the lower springs the Driver's side strut is less of a pain to get out.

See you Sunday,
Keith

Well, I created a scheduling conflict for myself.
I have to be at my son's school late Sunday afternoon for their Robotic's team unveiling party.

So, we are still a go for Sunday... We will just have to try to finish around 4.
If I have to leave with someone not finished, I could let you guys close up garage.

See you Sunday. The earlier the better.

I'd like to come, will try to make it around 10'ish. I don't really have any mods except an audio jack install. I'm not exactly Mr. Mechanic, but I can turn wrenches and help out the best I can.

Well, it sounds like we are going to have to stop traffic on Chris' street in order to park the Mini's!

I am sure that we will be able to stop the party at 4 for you. I am not even sure if I am going to be able to make it. I had several appointments booked for me on Sunday that I am going to have to try to reschedule. I will call my clients tomorrow to see.

Thanks

Dave

Allright. I would say there is about a 95% chance I will not be able to make it. I will catch you guys next time.

Hey Charlotte folks, Luke and I are meeting at the Starbucks next to Quaker Steak and Lube near the mall of 85 at <gulp> 7am and then heading up I-85 to 421S to 64E. We'll be on FRS channel 7 if you want to pick us up on there.

As it turns out, I don't have any mod's to do, (didn't order parts in time), but any excuse for a road trip!

I am sorry that I am not going to be able to make it. Unfortunately, I was not able to reschedule some clients that were booked for Sunday. Please post some pictures for us all to see. I hope that we will be able to do this again soon.

Sorry

Dave
