Meet and Eat in Charlotte - Oct 18

On the third Tuesday of every month, let's get together and eat... I'm trying to find places all over Charlotte, as well as ones with ample parking and possible car themes. If you know of a cool place, please let me know. I have a list started already.

Let's kick it off on Tuesday, October 18th at Mac's Speedshop! www.macspeedshop.com

Since this is our first one, I'd like to meet close by and drive in together.
At 6:15 Let's meet at the old Cupboard parking lot... 3005 South Blvd

We'll leave from there around 6:30 to drive up the street 2 blocks to Mac's at 2511 South Blvd. They will save us parking (more details later)

If you can't drive in with us, just meet us there!

If you plan on joining us, please let me know so I can get enough parking.

Rats!

I'd love to come and join, but as things would have it, the third Tuesday of every month is when the local chapter of a professional association meets(PMI)... and I'm a member of the board of directors... so I can't ditch 'em for this great time!

Maybe another time... sorry!!!

Sarah

Please add my name to the list. Sounds like fun.

I am glad to see that you are doing some things that the last Charlotte VP failed to do, like monthly dinners.

Good job.

Will we need to bring our own weapons or will they pass them out at the door?

Just kidding. This will be a great place.

JJ, glad you and Robin can make it. I will see you there.

If you can't make the 'drive' from the old Cupboard to Mac's... PLEASE stop in and join us! We'll be at the restaurant by 7pm at the latest!
Hope to see you all there!

Hey Gang!

I hope to get there Tuesday. I'll be coming straight from work so it's unlikely I'll be in time to meet and drive over. If not, I'll meet at the restaurant.

Do ya have room for a new kid in town? I'd love to stop in and meet ya all. I'll try to meet up for the drive over ... if I'm not there it just means I got lost.

Sorry you weren't able to come by, JJ.

We had a great turn-out with 15 MINI's, including Ed Keaty's new Pure Silver/Black MCS, Shelly's beautiful Yellow/Black MCS (with matching wardrobe), and Lorain's Blue/White MINI with USA flag roof decal. DebiW & Keith's Chili Red Convertible made its beautiful debut. Nice (Walen) ****! Mac's Speed Shop was a gracious host, displaying our banners and reserving tables and parking for our MINI's

The chrome accents under Luke's bonnet are dazzling. Steve made it by for a drink or two, and we even had an unscheduled "Stunt Show" when a station wagon lost a wheel in front of the restaurant and came barrelling into the parking lot where some of the MINI's were parked, swerving and showering sparks! My hats off to Luke for fending off the truant tire as it careened straight for my car!!!!

Then we had a flyover from a police helicopter lighting up the scene with its searchlight.

And to top off a great evening, one (un-named) MINI owner managed to lock her keys in the boot of her "Super Cooper."

Several of the new faces to our club commented that we REALLY know how to put on an event here in the Charlotte M2C2 chapter!!!

I think the SSR GT1 is one of the best looking 5-spoke wheel you can put on a MINI. Light and strong. Ultimately I went with JCW wheels, but GT1's were my backup choice.

FollowUp!

Well, we certainly started the Meet & Eats off with a Bang... AND Sparks and Spotlights too!

What a great evening! Thank you ALL for joining us! For those of you that missed us... WE MISSED YOU!!! We had a wonderful and adventurous time as you can see from the previous post. The food was great, the people fun and we'd love to have you join us next time!

We all learned about that extra safety feature on the MINI. And I look forward to hearing about the 'call in' unlock thing that Steve was telling me about. But until then, duct tape really works for everything - as now I will never be without my valet key... I taped it to my forehead this morning just to be sure! So, a very special thank you to those who stayed with me while keyless and to my Knight On Shining Harley who retrieved my spare key!

I will post and email soon about next month's Meet and Eat! November 15!
Happy Wednesday to Everyone!

Wow Sarah! What a dinner, good food, company, a stunt show and a fly over. I'm impressed

We had a great time. Thanks for organizing the dinner. I can't wait to see what's in store for the next one

Cheers,
Debi
