I'm switched on!

That's right, I...ahem, excuse me,..WE (wife included) will be joining the festivities. And now, a very special thank you to Jill for the room.

I can't wait to see you all again, or in some cases, meet you for the first time.

I75 N Traffic update. Bridge work above exit 122 (pick up point for Knoxville and GA MINIs) has shifted back to the other side and there is, once again, a lane closure north bound. We send a delivery truck that way daily so we get a traffic report. Just remember, if you get into traffic BELOW exit 122 on I75 N, and vehicles are backing up in the left lane, continue on in the right lane as the closure is after your exit. If there is a back up, we will take everyone on a short, scenic detour around the bridge work. If no traffic, we will head on up the interstate.

Thanks for the update, and a scenic detour might make a nice change from 2 divided lanes of asphalt!!

Welcome Loren! Are you with AtlMINIs and/or will you be traveling in our caravan or will you be driving up separately? Look forword to meeting you next Friday!

Jill, is Blwnaway in the Atlanta club and do you know if they will be traveling with us?

I'm actually with the Michigan MINI Motoring Club (MMMC) on www.michiganmini.com .

Although I love traveling in MINI caravans or packs, I'm not sure it will work out for this trip. I am picking my wife up at Metro Airport in Detroit from a business trip at 4:00 PM and leaving from there. We might be the last people to show up at the Kirkwood on Friday night!

We are so excited for this event!

If I remember correctly from the Owner's Lounge, Blwnaway is coming from St. Louis

Loren and Ed, thanks for the info. Just trying to keep my list updated and accurate.

*****ATTENTIONS ALL PKI PARTICIPANTS*****
Well, it's finally the here, the week we go to PKI! I hope everyone is as psyched up for this as I am. Please check the sign-up list to make sure I have you down. I assume everyone knows where they're picking up the caravan and/or knows who to be in contact with at your rendezvous location (Hickory, Asheville, Knoxville). PM me if you're not sure. Don't want to leave anyone behind. The travel schedule is going to be TIGHT so I urge everyone to be where you're supposed to be at the designated time or 10-15 minutes EARLIER if possible. Remember to bring your radios and have them set to Ch. 7, Sub. 21 (the usual frequecies we use). Look forward to seeing everyone on Friday and travel safe!

*****M2C2 MEMBERS*****
I have the shirts and they look great! They have a small blue M2C2 logo on the front and a large one on the back. Nate did a great job. They are $8 each and I will need to collect the money when I give you your shirt(s). I am asking that you pay for them by check made out to M2C2 rather than cash as I would rather not have to keep up with cash. There are only 2 sizes, L and XL and I think mostly XLs. I can give them to each of you when we meet up on Friday or after we arrive in Cincy, whichever you prefer. PM me if you have any questions about this.

Eric

I am planning on going to this event and have booked a room at the best western. I have not yet secured a ticket as I am waiting for the park to return my call.

Irishcow, are you wanting/planning to travel with our caravan? This thread is for the folks who are joining up with our group. Let me know.

I did a mapquest directions route and it takes Me a northern Route through PA I believe. I am not opposed to the caravan but I would need to know the time and location. I will be driving from DC and can be very flexible about what day and time I leave.

Should I be on the list even though I am not part of a caravan?

I'd still love to meet everyone when I'm there

Clean Mini

Great info on directions and event details......but no one has posted the whereabouts of the local "do it yourself" car wash. (or as my Dad used to call 'em "quarter car washes") Eggbert would like to look clean when he meets you all for the first time

there are two in Mason not far from PKI. One is "Bee something". Just do a mapquest map and then search for car washes, and you'll get:

Bee Clean Car Wash 5948 Snider Rd, Mason, OH (1.21 miles away) 513-229-3683 Squirt the Dirt 991 Reading Rd, Mason, OH (1.99 miles away) 513-398-4370

Both car washes are located on the south side of Downtown Mason. The Kirkwood Inn is on the north side of town..

I was wondering the same thing myself, as I know we'll have road dirt all over our MINIs when we arrive, and I'd like to have the opportunity to clean it off before everyone sees it.....

ERIC,
Karen and I should be arriving at the Asheville meetup between 9:45 and 10:00. I happened to go that way this past weekend, and it took me 45 mins to get to exit 44.

I am usually obsessed and can't relax and have fun until I find the car wash. Maybe we should call the Kirkwood and ask about having a car wash station for us there.

Donna, I nominate you for the official Car Wash Coordinator, whose ONLY duty it will be to contact the Kirkwood and ask about washing our cars.

Name Badges

There are still a few folks on the "caravan list" that I haven't heard from about a personalized name badge. This is going to be a fast and furious week for me, so I'm hoping to get the badges finished up tonight if possible.

I don't yet have info for:
jcgbrg
Luv My S
minicoopermike
queenB
tehanu gin

I do have info for:
Audioman
c-mini-go
Chrisfb1
Eric'smini
Matthewz
Mini03Tiger84
Mininc
Space
Tweety's Mom
Trainman
windmeup

If you are on the "don't have" list or if you're in the caravan but not on either list and you would like a personalized name badge, please pass along your info as requested in the forum topic "for Kings Island trip participants" and I'll be happy to make you one.

If nominated I will not run....if elected I will not serve. Just kidding. Will let you know what they say.

Eldest daughter just bailed on me. Spent all her money at Bonnaroo and says she has to work now to go to Canada next week. Anyone need a ticket?

If I had known 20 minutes ago it would have worked out... so long as they have me on the will call list as they said I should be ok but it is always nice to have a backup plan.

Emmie,

Who the heck is Matthewz? Don't have him done on the sign-up list or have any information about this person.
