Sorry you won't be able to join us Michelle. Hope to see you soon at another event. The picnic isn't THAT far off.

Guys, I need some information here. If you've been keeping up with this thread, you know that I am planning on meeting folks coming from the Asheville area and areas west of Hickory at the McDonald's at exit 116 on I-40 at 4:30 on Saturday. So far, I have not heard from ANYONE (other than Chris B.--thanks Chris) from those areas if they are planning on coming or not. So I don't know if I need to be there or not or who I might be waiting for. If you are from those areas and are or are not joining us on Saturday, I really need to know. Thanks a bunch!!!!!

Heather and I were tenatively planning on being at the McD's at #116. We have an appointment that will keep us busy until about 3:00pm and are in Greeneville,TN about 50 minutes north of Asheville. If everything goes smooth we'll make it by 4:30. If not, it'll be close. Would it be easier to meet at Hamm's?

This will be our first MINI motoring trip and would like to make it. If I can get someone to send me a PM with a cell phone # I could call if we weren't going to make it on time. What about FRS channel's? Channel 7 Sub-channel 21 ???

Edit: Mapquest says 63 miles of I-40E, from Asheville, before I get to Icard. We are going to have to figure out a way to get out of town by 2:30pm.

Well, It's all down hill, so it shouldn't take that long.....

I-40 is 70 from Old Fort (exit 73) to just outside of Morganton (exit 103) and Icard is exit 116, and it's a fast 60 through there too. Just watch out for the normal speed trap at the bottom of Black Mountain under the bridge, just past exit 72. It's still 55 there!

Wish I could make this one, but I'll be heading West towards Franklin about then. We're working on making it to Joe's Basement, in March

Have a good time everyone!

Kevin and I plan to be at exit 116 at 4:30, so we're planning on seeing you there, Eric. PM me with your cell number so we can get in touch with you if need be, please.

We're leaving Flat Rock and coming via US 64 east of Hendersonville to Bat Cave, then up 9 to pick up 40 at Black Mountain. We'll watch for your friend the state cop, Smokey!

I'm looking forward to the drive and to seeing lots of people I've not seen in a while.

Well, we're not going to be able to make it. The meeting has been moved back to 3:00 and won't be over til 4:00.

When is the picnic? Before MOTD?

The picnic is before MOTD. It's April 23 at Mount Pilot. There is a thread on the picnic! I'm hoping it'll be good.

Thanks guys for all the good information. Melinda and I are looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday. Sounds like we are going to have a good crowd.

Lee, glad you and Kevin are going to make it. I will be at exit 116 by 4:15 and will be waiting there until at least 4:45. Lee, I PM'd you my cell # so you should have that. Bring your radios as well and set them to ch. 7.

Curt, sorry to hear you guys will not be here. But we will see you soon at some other event I'm sure.

Mark and Keith, good to hear you guys are going to make it as well. George will be bringing several cars up from Charlotte.

This should be a fun time.

By the way Michelle, that's Pilot Mountain. Mt. Pilot is the fictional equivalent from the Andy Griffith show!

I just stumbled onto this thread. It's almost dinnertime, and now I want bbq!

I'd love to join the group, but chances are very slim that I can talk the wife into getting up before dawn to make it out by 4:30. This thread has me craving real bbq bad enough that I'd consider going anyway- but I can't drive myself 'cause i have 2 busted elbows. Guess I should have thought about the potential consequences before I tripped over that parking lot divider 3 weeks ago.

At least I have a new stop to look forward to on the way to the Dragon next year!

Enjoy!

Hey Mark or Keith,
When and where are you planning to meet?

There is a small chance I can make it tomorrow. I want to but I need to see how some things settle out overnight. If I can make it I'll be there or call Keith.

Thanks
Chris

So are you going to be able to make it??

I'm sending all the stuff that folks left at our place with LJ in NC. If you aren't able to, Mark will have your jacket. That is if he doesn't mind holding onto it for you????

Have a good time everyone!

No, I decided not to go ... not feeling well.

If you already sent the stuff then I'll get it from Mark.
Otherwise I do plan to go to the quarterly meeting on the 12th

Thanks
Chris
