Auto-X at Knight's Stadium, Fort Mill Feb 6
 

Hello Mini enthusiasts,

The Auto-X season opener is taking place on February 6th at Knight's Stadium, Fort Mill, SC. I have registered, but so far I am only one of two Minis in pre-registered field of 77 cars. Would be nice to see some fellow Mini fans racing or just come out and cheer. This "points event" is organized by CCR-SCCA. Go to www.myautoevents.com to register or just get details about the event and view the entry list.

I am running my 2003 Cooper S in G-Stock. I am still learning and I probably will for the rest of my life. The fun part is what got me hooked. The only modification I have done is that I have replaced the stock exhaust with the Magnaflow Cat-back system... What a nice sound. I may not go any faster, but I will sound a whole lot better. I will be running the good looking, but lead heavy S-Lite 17 inch rims with the stock Pirelli Euforia run-flats. I am still waiting on my racing tires and rims from AKtire in Florida. I have opted for their 16 inch Nicco Rims (14 lbs each) and Falken Azenis 215x40 tires. This may not be the most optimized set for Auto-X, but a good starter set. Unfortunately, I think they will arrive after February 6th.

Did anyone go to this? I am planning on going to the next event, March 6.

I saw Per Olof today at Saturday at Hendrick MINI. I think he was the only club member there.

I did meet a soon to be MINI owner that was there. He was at Hendrick today. He is a past National Champion with a Boxter S. He is about ready to order his MINI.
