Hi Kenny,
I don't know any professionals in Charlotte area that would install a pulley. There may be someone there. I would hesitate going to a mechanic that has never worked on a MINI before.

How far are you willing to travel?

There is someone in Winston-Salem area and someone in Clemson area. You can expect to pay $400-$500 to have it done. FastLaneTuning in Clemson was trying to start a pulley party for early next year. I don't know what his fee will be.

I held a do-it-yourself BYOP pulley party last spring and we installed 5 pulleys. I have done 7 altogether.

If you want to come over to Raleigh Area (Apex actually) sometime I'd be happy to help.

Chris S
As always... installing a pulley technically voids your warranty.

I was at Mini03Tiger84's last BYOP Party and I was impressed. I was a little apprehensive abouting being first, but it got done and somewhere around 15k miles later it is still running great. I opted for the 15% reduction.

if you ever got chance to come to atlanta.

we have Rspeed here and of course the fast growing Threshould Motorsport.

they all good guys who works on MINIs and owns MINIs and race MINIs.

Happy customer from both!
Threshould would cost you way less than that since they are not the big brothers in the market.

If you ever consider to come down to Atlanta, give them a call they located around Road Atlanta Tracks(dont have to drive into the city if you come down)

That's why I held a BYOP party... somewhere under a $150 for a pulley and a new belt and you install it with someone who has done it several times (or at least once ) It does take a couple of hours to perform.

I've outlined the steps on the MINI2 site...
MiniTiger's Pulley install (scroll down part way)

I was also at the Raleigh BYOP party and it was great to just kick it wih other MINI owners and take or cars apart. The install was not terribly difficult with others helping and Chris having already done one (at that point). It added a nice kick in the pants for the $130.00 the Alta 15% cost me. I also now have a nice conversation starter paperweight on my desk.

BTW, I will be happy to come by and assist and bring tools if you want to get another group together Chris.

Hey Kenny,

We are gearing up (just realized about that pun, sorry!) to have our PULLEY PARTY towards the end of the year or beginning of next year. We have a LOT of stuff we are going to be working out in the next few weeks to get ourselves ready for it, as we are trying to make our business as approachable and our customers pleased with our new changes. Just some quick words about the business - I have taken over as president of the company, and a LOT of changes need to be made for me to want to have a pulley party at our shop, including a possible relocation to Anderson, SC, to make sure everyone is confidant in our work.

Pricing? $4-500? Yeah right - maybe at other places, but not here!!!!
