Since selling my Mini's and my Magnum I have been trying to find an older Cooper S to have around to drive when I could. The price needed to be low but still a Mini in good condition. I have found this one in MD. It makes a note about an early 05 model. Since both of my Mini's were 09's I am not aware of the significance of the comment. Was there a problem with the early 05's or the later 05' have some great improvements. Any help would be great. Thanks,

That means it's not a later model '05. There's slightly better reliability in the '06's but early/late '05 makes no difference.

 

To me, any well cared for R53 is a good car, regardless of the year. This one appears to be maintained well, and I would only pay that price if it was in great shape. Finding a nice used MINI at a decent price is not near as hard as it use to be.

I have 05 S, highly modified with 120K on it just replace the original battery last week and this past summer crank shaft pulley and front brakes and pads at 107K. Rear pads at 74K and thats all I have done other than mod it up. Thinking of selling it for new one?, but have more in it than I paid for it, hahaha
