Hey Wendy and Max, we could meet at the Wal Mart at exit 132 off I 40. We should be in that area by about 10:30am. When you get off at the exit turn left at the top of the ramp Wal Mart wil be straight across when you get to the next intersection.

Wife and I are driving up from Florida for the festival and staying in Conover, maybe we'll cross paths.

Easily the best festival I've been to in a long time

Unfortunately, I can't go this year because of a prior committment ( ), but I wanted to jump in and say that this is a GREAT festival to attend. It's HUGE! There are more food and craft vendors that you can imagine, as well as live music and lots to do for kids.

We only had about 4 cars to go last year, but we had a really good time. I wish I could go this year! Ya'll have fun and eat some homemade chocolate ice cream (and also maybe a fried ear of corn on a stick!) for me.

1. How about a report on the ride and festival?

2. Did anyone bring me a fried apple pie?

We did, but we ate it on the way. Actually we had a cup of apple pie with homemade icecream on it.
The weather was great and the ride was pleasant. Thanks John for leading us....all 3 cars. Hope your motorcycle run was great too.
I got a really pretty wooden apple that's hollowed and has a hole for birds to nest in.

Thanks for the update. I am going to find me a fried apple pie today somewhere in Charlotte or local area.
We had a very good ride for the Make-A-Wish Foundation with over 60 motorcycles participating. There were some restaurants we stopped at that we may want to consider for a future meeting place. The ride got a little wild at times, so I set my own, safer pace, but it was great weather yesterday. Sorry I missed the apple festival, but hopefully I can make the Hendrick run later this month. Motor on!

Gotta great idea. If I were to nominate you as Charlotte VP, you could pick some of those restaurants for our Meet 'N Eats. Let me know if you're up for it.
